This can be a speaking and listening activity or writing activity. Cut out and laminate the 30 cards showing characters with thought bubbles. Children write in the thought bubble a word or phrase that the character may be thinking. They can expand on this in discussions. Characters range from adults and children with varied expressions and emotions. Links in with emotions and feelings topics. A nice follow up activity is for each child in class to choose a card and then in turn they say the name of the character and what they are thinking e.g. my name is Henry the snowman and I am thinking that if anyone else tries to take my carrot nose, then I will throw this snowball at them!
